More than just an October event.
Social Media Breakfast Madison has spent more than 15 years championing social media education, networking, and best practices among Dane County’s community of professionals. The Madison Social Media Marketing Awards grew out of that mission — created to shine a light on the local businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and individuals whose social media work makes our community stronger.
Unlike a one-time contest, the Awards program runs for months, not just one night: nominations open each year and close September 10, giving great work time to be noticed before the SMBMad board reviews every submission each fall and selects winners, who are honored at a ceremony held every October.

Nominate
Anyone in the community can nominate an individual, business, or organization in one or more categories using our short Google Form. Nominations open each year and close September 10 — get yours in before the deadline.
Board Review
Each fall, the SMBMad board reviews all nominations received that year, evaluating creativity, engagement, and impact to select the winner in each category.
Celebrate
Winners are notified ahead of time and honored at the Madison Social Media Marketing Awards ceremony every October — a free, community-wide celebration of Dane County’s social media talent.

Categories are reviewed each year and may be added, retired, or renamed by the SMBMad board.

Join us October 21, 5–7 PM at Serendipity Labs for the 3rd Annual Awards Ceremony. Winners are notified in advance and celebrated at this free, community-wide celebration — registration required, space limited.
A growing tradition.
A look back at the organizations and individuals Dane County has already celebrated.
Winners included Overture Center for the Arts, Destination Madison, Henry Vilas Zoo, City Cast Madison, and the National Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, among others, across 11 categories.
Launched alongside SMBMad’s 15th anniversary, the inaugural Awards recognized nearly 50 nominees across 14 categories, with winners announced at a joint anniversary and awards celebration.

Social Media Breakfast Madison (SMBMad) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization focused on social media education and professional networking. We host free monthly events on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, 7:30–9:30 AM, engaging a growing group of professionals across academic, nonprofit, entrepreneurial, student, trade association, and retail backgrounds.
